Ballet and HamburgersPosted by in Uncategorized
Ballet is a very challenging and beautiful dance form that originated in France and Italy, yet has become synonymous with “dance” around the world. It is a “classical” art form, one that takes years of practice and dedication to master. Thus, it can be very intimidating to look for and take a ballet class as an adult, especially if it is a new dance form for you.
So finding Michael Cornell’s school was a blessing for me.
I interviewed Michael about the Align Ballet Method, an adult ballet class program in Los Angeles. Align offers a 6 week ballet barre class for beginner adults. If you have tried other ballet based fitness courses or you just want to dance, this course is great for people new to ballet or who need review on ballet dance vocabulary.
Michael Cornell discussed challenges of teaching adult dance classes. He talks about specific needs of adult learners and providing a place where people of various ages, skills, experience and physical strength can come to learn ballet.
“The breathing created our rhythms”
Michael talks about his passion for music and embodying a choreographer’s vision.
